Joseph Yobo is expected in the Nigeria training camp in Calabar Wednesday to ascertain his fitness for this weekend’s clash against Rwanda.

"Yobo has spoken with coach Stephen Keshi and expressed his readiness to play subject to doctors confirmation that he is fully fit from his muscle injury," a top team official stated.

However Joseph Yobo has told MTNFootball.com that while he looks forward to featuring in the game against Rwanda, he would prefer to be fully fit before he returns to action for the Eagles.

"I am eager to play for the team. But I don't want to be 80 or 90 per cent ready for the game. I want to be fully fit and give 120 per cent for the Eagles,” he said.

“In any case, let's just stay positive and believe that I would be available for selection."

Injury on the final day of action in the Turkish league has kept Yobo, the most Nigeria capped player on the sidelines. Meanwhile, after having their first work out in Calabar at the University of Calabar pitch on Tuesday, the Eagles will Wednesday evening move to the UJ Esuene Stadium.

Coach Keshi cancelled the Eagles morning session Wednesday to allow the players rest after over two hours of conditioning training Tuesday.

The players are expected to have psychological session with the team's psychologist, Robinson Okosun.
