Nigeria regret Malawi draw
Malawi said they are disappointed they did not beat Nigeria in
Saturday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier in Blantyre.
The Group F tie ended in a 1-1 draw after a howler by Nigeria goalkeeper and skipper Vincent Enyeama gifted the home team a stoppage time equaliser inside the packed Kamuzu Banda Stadium.
The Flames of Malawi coach Kinnah Phiri said his team created more chances and should have taken them to beat their more illustrious opponents.
“We are not satisfied with the draw because we created more chances than Nigeria and should have won this game if we had put them away,” Phiri said after the match.
“Nigeria created very few chances and from that they scored their goal.”
Malawi skipper Moses Chavula said the home draw left a mixed feeling of disappointment and elation.
“We put up a good fight and equalised on the dot of time. We are happy and at the same time disappointed because we should have won this game,” said the Amazulu of South Africa defender.
Nigeria lead Group F with four points from two matches, while Namibia are second on three points after a 1-0 home win over Kenya also on Saturday.
Malawi are now third in the standings with two points and Kenya are bottom of the table on a point from the goalless draw with Malawi in Nairobi.
The next round of matches in the qualifying tournament will be played in March 2013 with Nigeria hosting Kenya and Malawi taking on Namibia in Blantyre.

You can beat the Eagles with out Mikel Obi, if Mikel Obi played perhaps you could win but without Mikel Obi, it will be difficult for Eagles to loose a real competitive match. Watch out.
We don't need the likes of Mikel Obi in the national team.
Unfortunately, it is history. Take the chances next time. Hard luck
