Wigan winger Victor Moses has promised an improved showing in an Eagles shirt after he failed to score against Namibia Sunday.

Moses, who started the game as a support striker before going off for Enyimba striker Uche Kalu, told MTNFootball.com after the game, "I know a whole lot of Nigerians would be disappointed that I didn't find the back of the net after several chances.

“I am sorry, but I want them to understand that this is my first game in front of the Nigerian crowd.

"I battled with the weather but that's not an excuse for not scoring. The chances came but I was not that lucky.

“There are many more games ahead and it can only get better. All I ask from fans is that they should be patient because my best is yet to come for the National team."

Victor Moses made his debut for the Eagles in a 2013 AFCON qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali, where he shone like a million star.

The Eagles head to Abuja Monday to begin preparations for the game against Malawi this weekend.

Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow and Super Eagles flying winger Ahmed Musa has declared that Namibia were lucky to have escaped with only a 1-0 loss in Calabar.

Musa told MTNFootball.com that Eagles deserved to win the game by a big margin, but were so unlucky to have missed several scoring chances.

He said, "We played our hearts out and wanted to beat Namibia well but they were very lucky that we scored only one goal.

“We created a lot of chances but unfortunately we could not convert them, the score line does not reflect the play because we really played them hands down, but we are happy that we got the three points at stake in the game. Subsequent games will be better."

Ahmed Musa came in and gave Ike Uche the pass for the match winner.

Well done boys..Am sure it's a matter of time b4 you roam the African sky again. And i know in Keshi i truly believe. I was here a week ago , worrying about the play of the local eagles in their last two warm up matches which ended in a loses. I agree now that the local eagles if anything would help bring the best out our foreign players. But i still believe we need more experienced players to be called up in other for the team to score more goals.
Stephen Okechukwu keshi is a good defender in his time and i expect him to build his team from defense to forward. I'd like him mold his defense from the Local Super Eagle and use more of his forwards from foreign players and let Nigeria start enjoying good football again.
Long live nigeria,Super Eagles 4 life.
