Sharks left fullback Juwon Oshaniwa has vowed to hold on to his present position in the Nigeria Super Eagles.

Oshaniwa was considered to start ahead of Europe-based stars Taye Taiwo and Elderson Echiejile for the June qualifiers and he told MTNFootball.com that he will continue to work hard to keep his place in the starting XI of the national team.

The former Kwara United and Lobi Star player said, “It is hard work that gave me this opportunity and I'm not ready to lose it because there are other players who want to play this my position.

“It was my dream to feature for the national team and this has now come to pass but I now don’t wish to stop here, I want to make sure we make it to South Africa next year January and even claim the trophy with me playing a big role.

“The mistake we made that exit us from the last Nations Cup won't repeat itself because we are seriously working not only to feature at the next edition, but to be the champions of Africa again come next year.

“I hope to keep my place in the team because sky will not be my limit, but a standing point,”

The Kogi State-born player was part of Sharks squad who won the WAFU Cup two years ago. He and Sharks exited this year’s Federation Cup game to his former team Lobi Stars 3-1 in the quarterfinal on Monday.
