'Tanzania to suffer for Rwanda loss'
Alhaji Gero of Flying Eagles
“Tanzania will suffer for the loss in Rwanda,” said a confident NFF technical committee chairman Green after the friendly against Rwanda in Kigali on Tuesday.
“The team played very well and I strongly believe that if they continue to improve and listen to the instructions from their coach, John Obuh, who I have full confidence in, not only will Tanzania fall, we will go all the way to retain our African crown and make a bigger impact at the World Cup in Turkey.”
Green, who is the leader of the Nigerian delegation to Tanzania, therefore called on the Flying Eagles to imbibe the Nigerian spirit of fighting from start to finish.
“The only thing that I saw was missing in this game was that you need to have the Nigerian spirit of never say die. Once you have this, there will no stopping you here in Africa and beyond,” he declared.
“We played a good game only to lose concentration in the dying minutes of the game and we paid for this.”
The Flying Eagles will train on the grass pitch of the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Wednesday evening before they depart for Tanzania in the afternoon the following day.
