Ordega fit again
Nigeria female U20 star striker Francisca Ordega has returned to training after several weeks out with a knee injury, officials disclosed.

Ordega, who was the team’s leading scorer in the qualifying tournament for the 2013 U20 World Cup with four goals, suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament of the left knee.

She returned to training on Wednesday after she was certified fit by the team's doctor.

"It is good to be back. You can imagine how it feels when you sit out and watch your teammates train," said the player, whose dream is to be a Nollywood actress.

Now looking forward to the Women World Cup in Japan, Ordega said,"Well, you can expect a lot in terms of excitement, good football and serious competition among the different teams.

"However as a team, ours is to ensure we win as one.”

Incidentally, Ordega was part of the Nigeria side who were knocked out by Korea Republic in the quarterfinal of the 2010 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago. Nigeria will play Korea Republic in their opening game on August 19 in Saitama.

"That was one painful loss. We were leading and all of a sudden they came from behind to win the match. Now I believe this is the right time to avenge the loss since I know some of the players will be in the Korean team who we will be facing,” she recollected.
