Rangers have suspended skipper James Okwuosa after he went AWOL in Ibadan Wednesday evening.

The former Lobi Stars defender has been handed an indefinite suspension for this “act of sabotage and anti-club activity”.

According to Rangers media officer Foster Chime, big central defender Okwuosa was believed to have left for South Africa to undergo trials without the permission of the club.

Chime said both the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nigeria Premier League (NPL) have been officially notified of the player’s disappearance.

On Wednesday, the NPL leaders crashed out of this year’s Federation Cup after they lost 3-2 in their second group game against Sharks. They also lost their first game by a lone goal to Prime FC.
