Nigeria defender Papa Idris has resumed training with Kano Pillars after several weeks sidelined by an ankle injury.

The player, who sustained an ankle injury during training in the Eagles build-up for World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers last month, was left out of the Kano Pillars squad for the Federation Cup group phase in Lagos.

"I have resumed training," Papa Idris told MTNFootball.com

"I decided to wait for the injury to fully heal that was why I opted out from the Federation Cup. But I know that in another week I should be fully fit and can join them for the rest of the season.”

Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa also confirmed that the player has returned to training.

“Papa Idris is back training with the rest of the squad we left behind in Kano,” he said.
