Nigeria female U20 team have dropped seven more players including Uchechi Sunday, who featured in the World Cup final two years ago.

Sunday was dropped on Tuesday evening by Falconets coach Edwin Okon along with six others to reduce the number of players in the Abuja camp to 25.

Uchechi stars for FA Cup winners, Rivers Angels, and featured for Nigeria at the 2010 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Germany. She also featured for Super Falcons who failed to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.

Others dropped were Vivian Okotie, Lola Phillips, Bukola Oguinnoiki, Jane David, Tina Oge and Aguawaba Chineyen.

Okon thanked the axed players for their efforts while reminding those left to continue to give their best in training.

"At this time, your efforts must be extra ordinary to make the team," he said.

Last week, five players were decamped by the team.

Only 25 players will make the training tour to South Korea and so another four players will be dropped for the final squad to the World Cup, which begins on August 18 in Japan.

Nigeria have been drawn against Korea Republic, Brazil and Italy in Group B.
