The former Almeria of Spain player told MTNFootball.com that he is delighted with the deal and he hopes for an improved performance in the coming season.

"I am happy that I have settled down with Academica after many offers and uncertainty of where I will play. I signed a three-year contract and I am looking forward to a great season," he said.

Ogu, who scored three goals in 12 games for Uniao Liera, started his career at Academica on a bright note when he was brought down for a penalty in a pre-season game against Feirense.

"I have played a game for them already when we drew 2-2 with Feirense. I played the last 25 minutes, though I didn't score but I was brought down for the penalty that gave us the equaliser," Ogu told
