EXCLUSIVE: Eagles recall Kaita
Kaita recalled
Kaita, 25, has been widely seen as Nigerian football’s Public Enemy No.1 as the Eagles lost this crucial World Cup group game and thereafter crashed out of the tournament in the first round.
Former Eagles coach Samson Siasia flatly refused to recall the hard working defensively midfielder, insisting he did not wish to draw the wrath of millions of angry fans.
However, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal now that new coach Stephen Keshi has opted to give the former Kano Pillars star a second chance in the national team.
It is the same gesture he has extended to Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who also last featured for Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup after he missed a sitter against South Korea.
‘The Yak’ has fired 13 goals in the English Premier League for his struggling club.
Kaita and Yakubu are among the 11 Europe-based professionals invited by Keshi for a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Rwanda on February 29.
There is no place for Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi, who has just returned from a seven-week injury lay-off or on-form Russia-based striker Emmanuel Emenike.
The 11 foreign pros for Rwanda:
Goalkeeper : Vincent Enyeama (Lille/France)
Defenders: Joseph Yobo (Fenerbache/Turkey), Taiye Taiwo (QPR/England)
Midfielders: Dickson Etuhu (Fulham/England), Sani Kaita (Tavriya/Ukraine), Joel Obi (inter Milan/Italy)
Strikers: Ike Uche (Granada/Spain), Osaze Odemwingie,Yakubu Aiyegbeni (Blackburn Rovers/England), Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow/Russia)

hmmmmmmmmm, war go soon start, small mafia group, versus the big mafia boss. I dey watch. the list says it all. Zambia won't the Afcon with young and hungry players, Nigeria is recalling papa's and grand papa's in the name of rebiulding. maybe someone is trying to reward some players football carrier in compensation for the clamour for his employment, 13 goals my ass.
Eagles, lets go and kill them, you will always be our darling team win or lose.
Good showing by the home boys,I hope Keshi gives more of them the chance to perform in crucial matches.I also luv d list of invited players, add 9home boys to that list and we can pick a team good enough to match any team in Africa. No more wholesale invitation of business men pretending to be footballers.
This is a wonderful revelation. This is a catalyst putting the whole house up for better performance and more discipline.Kudos to the home side. They have done us proud. I also applauded the efforts of the coaching crew led by The Boss.Well done guys .Let's keep it up.God bless Nigeria, bless NFF and FIFA and more succes
