Nigeria international Sone Aluko has backed new club Hull City to fight their way back to the English Premier League.

Hull, who once lined up ex-Nigeria skipper Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha, last played in the EPL in May 2010 and their new signing Aluko has expressed confidence they could soon be back in the top flight.

"Hull City are an ambitious team. I am happy to come in to be part of the battle. I think we can make it to the Premier League, but it will be tough contest as big teams with same ambition are here in the Championship," Aluko said.

The former Glasgow rangers winger got off to a great start for Hull this week against Oldham Athletic when he scored the only goal that gave ‘The Tigers’ victory in a pre-season friendly.

He said he took the right decision by signing for Hull.

"It was a great start for me with Hull City scoring the goal that gave us victory on my debut. I am sure I have joined the right club at the right time. It is a sign of good things to happen to me here," Aluko

His versatility upfront, where he can play in midfield, right wing, left wing, attacking midfielder and striker, will be a big plus for the ambitious Hull City.
