Top officials have predicted Nigeria will rise to within the top 20 in the world rankings by the end of the year.

Nigeria dropped three places to 60 in last month's ranking leaving the West Africa giants in a disappointing 10th position in Africa.

"I am confident that by the end of the year we would have climbed into the top 20. A ranking I expect to improve again after the Nations Cup finals in South Africa," said Amadu.

"We would experience further drop in the rankings and this is largely due to the fact that we did not feature at the last Nations Cup and we are rebuilding our team.

“More so that the Euro games are around the corner it only means there would be changes in the rankings."

Nigeria will be involved in a busy month of June, when they will play three very important qualifiers in both the 2013 Nations Cup and the World Cup.

Noises and boastfulness again...for a team without formation? Typical of Nigerian officials
