10 Flying Eagles for glory
Flying Eagles coach John Obuh has predicted that at least 10 of his players will go on to become full internationals for Nigeria.
“I expect at least 10 players from the Flying Eagles to make it all the way to the Super Eagles,” Obuh told MTNFootball.com
“However, this cannot be automatic because the players will have to work hard for it.
“That was the same with the players I used for the U17 World Cup. I only took nine of them to the U20 World Cup in Colombia because the others in that squad did not apply themselves very well, they felt they only had to show up to make the U20 team.”
The Flying Eagles reached the last eight of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia with several players catching the eye.
Ahmed Musa is already a full international, while Terna Suswan and Emmanuel Anyanwu feature for the country’s Olympic team.
Eagles coach Samson Siasia has already picked out goalkeeper Dami Paul, Kenneth Omeruo, Olanrewaju Kayode and Edafe Egbedi as players who impressed him at Colombia 2011.
His assistant, Simon Kalika, has also rated skipper Ramon Azeez very highly.
