Nigeria’s 5-0 pounding of Guatemala in the U20 World Cup has not gone unnoticed in Colombia.

The provincial ‘La Cronica’ slammed the Junior Eagles result as their lead story Monday.

The headline read ‘Rain of goals!’ with a big coloured photograph of the Flying Eagles celebrating a goal with coach John Obuh in his designer wear.

A one-page report inside celebrated the fire power of the Nigerian team, saying it has turned sour Guatemala’s debut at the U20 World Cup.

After the goal dance celebration of Edafe Egbedi and co, ‘El Espectador’ simply headlined its own report ‘Nigeria dance on Guatemala’.

However, the country’s leading newspaper, ‘El Tiempo’, preferred to run with Spain’s 4-1 victory over Costa Rica, also on Sunday.
