17h34 -
GOAL! Egypt's Ahmed Elmohamad scores for Aston Villa against Everton, it's now 3-1 to The Toffees. The Egyptian's 30-yard shot should really have been saved by Everton keeper Tim Howard, but it swerved into the net. Game on?

16h32 -
Not much to report from our African stars at the moment, Steven Pienaar remains a big influence for Everton at Aston Villa.

16h19 - Cameroon's Sebastien Bassong has not had a happy debut so far for Norwich, his challenge on Djibral Cisse was deemed a penalty and QPR have equalised. 1-1. To be fair, it was a very generous award by the referee.

16h12 -
He's not African, but worth mentioning that Robin van Persie has scored for Manchester United 10 minutes into his home debut for the club. They are 1-1 with Fulham.

16h05 - GOAL! Steven Pienaar has just scored a stunner for Everton to put them 1-0 up at Aston Villa. He picks up the ball on the edge of the area and unleashed an unstoppable drive past Shay Given in the home goal. Great strike!

15h35 - Mali star Mahamadou Diarra starts for Fulham at Manchester United, who have dropped Wayne Rooney in favour of Robin van Persie. That is not going to go down well with Coleen ...

15h32 - Former Cote d'Ivoire international forward Arouna Kone (remember him?) starts for Wigan Atheltic as they travel to Southampton. He was at Levante in Spain last season but, quite literally, did nothing - he failed to make a single first team appearance.

15h24 - Cameroon's Benoît Assou-Ekotto starts for Tottenham Hotspur at home to West Brom. Togo's Emmanuel Adebayor is on the bench. Youssuf Mulumbu from DR Congo is in the Brummies side, but there is no starting place for Nigeria's Peter Odemwingie. 14h59 - Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona will start wide on the right for Augsburg against Dusseldorf in the German Bundesliga today at 15h30. He was once on the books of Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa. Augsburg also have Sierra Leone international Gabriel Sankoh at centre-back.

14h45 -
Disappointment for Benin's Stéphane Sessègnon and Egypt's Ahmed Elmohamady as their match for Sunderland against Reading in the English Premiership is called off! Why? Waterlogged pitch! British summer? Pah ...

14h30 - Ghana youth winger Abeiku Quansah returned to Arsenal Kyiv's training on Wednesday after being ruled out of action for close to two months with a knee injury.

14h28 - Some news from today, Nigeria defender Ugochukwu Ukah could be out of action for six weeks after he broke his arm on his debut in a Polish top-flight match.

14h16 - Senegal midfielder Mohamed Diamé of West Ham United is having a bad day so far at Swansea City, his side is 2-0 down after 30 minutes. Both very sloppy goals to concede.

We already have a goal from our African stars as Kenyan Victor Wanyama, who has previously been linked with Arsenal, gives Glasgow Celtic a four-minute lead at Inverness in the Scottish Premier League. Inverness 0-1 Celtic
