Tema Youth Football Club return to the top-flight after two years in the second tier league.
The club is owned by businessman Wilfred Osei, popularly known as Parma, who was recently elected as an Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association. He also acts as the club’s Chief Executive and Sporting Director.
Tema Youth secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League in 2007 and played there for two seasons.
A disciplinary committee ruling in 2009 led to their demotion after being docked points for illegally registering striker Emmanuel Clottey.
The club, situated in the Port City of Tema, earned rave reviews for completing the zonal league and promotional play-off of the 2010/2011 second-tier season unbeaten.
Anthony Lokko, a long- time assistant at the club, will lead their technical direction. He played as a defender for the defunct GHAPOHA and will take charge of his first Premier League assignment.
They failed to make high-profile signings in the off-season and have recruited youthful players to lead their campaign this term.
Defender Daniel Eshun has been signed from the renowned Red Bull Soccer Academy while highly-rated midfielder Bernard Akuffo who has served the club for five years will stay despite interest from rival clubs.
