Berekum Chelsea are one of the youngest teams inthe Ghana top-flight as they were formed in 2000 by businessman Emmanuel Kyeremeh.
The club-based in Berekum have over the past two years challenged some of Ghana's big teams for the country's best talents.
They clinched their first league title last season with four matches to spare thanks to the presence of some of the local league's best talents.
At their Sunyani Coronation Park venue, Chelsea have been ruthless with their opponents and they are hoping to replicate that when they start their continental campaign in the African Champions League.
Despite winning the league last season, Chelsea sacked coach Yussif Abubakar, replacing him with astute Scottish coach Steve Pollack.
One of the team's famous former players is Lee Addy who played for Ghana at the 2010 World Cup before he clinched a move to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade.
The club have recruited some experienced players including Charles Taylor and Niger international Moussa Mohammed to boost the squad ahead of the start of the season.
They will support young players like Abdul Basitand goalkeeper Ernest Sowah who have been instrumental in the club's recent successes.
