Midfielder Laryea Kingston has signed a one-and-a-half year deal with Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak.

The 31-year-old has struggled to settle in Europe since he was denied a contract extension by Scottish side Heart of Midlothian two years ago.

He first signed for Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in June 2010 but had his contract terminated after six months.

In June last year, he joined Israeli side Hapoel Be'er Sheva but cancelled his contract after only three months.

Kingston believes his return to the Ghana top flight can bring some excitement.

''My presence in the league is going to generate a lot of interest I think it is important for Ghanaians to appreciate what we have,'' he told Accra-based Joy Sports.

"I will work hard for the team on and off the pitch. I hope to impart the team with the experience gained outside.''

Kingston will be available for Hearts when the second half of the season resumes on 19 February.
