Gyan misses Ghana training on Friday
Asamoah Gyan missed Friday morning's training session
The Al Ain striker is reported to have picked up a knock during Thursday's 1-0 win over Mali in Port Elizabeth.
He was joined on the sidelines by Anthony Annan and Richmond Boakye Yiadom who are recovering from ankle injuries.
"Gyan has been rested as a precautionary measure after picking up some knocks," Ghana team doctor Baba Adams said.
"Annan will rest for two days and Boakye-Yiadom for three days after which they will be examined again and when found fit, they will resume training."
Ghana's next match is against Niger at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
