DR Congo suffer N'Zonzi snub for AFCON
Stephen N'Zonzi has turned down an opportunity to play for DR Congo
The 23-year-old's snub is the latest setback of coach Claude Leroy in convincing the French-born to feature for the Leopards ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
N'Zonzi was named in DR Congo's 23-man squad for the friendly to be played in Morocco on Wednesday.
But the ex Blackburn player has turned down the latest call.
The development is seen as a massive setback for the Congolese who are also chasing Granddi Ngoyi who plays for French club Troyes.
Coach Claude Leroy is hoping to assemble the finest array of players for the Nations Cup where they will be facing Ghana, Niger and Mali on Group B.
The Leopards open their Nations Cup account which will be hosted in South Africa early next year against the Black Stars of Ghana on January 20 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
