Ghana's Chelsea shock Coton Sport to advance
Berekum Chelsea have qualified to the money zone on their first attempt
The first leg ended 0-0 in Berekum two weeks ago which means the debutants from Ghana advanced by the same scoreline on aggregate.
Striker Emmanuel Clottey and captain Abdul Basit put Chelsea 2-0 up before Coton Sport pulled one back.
The Blues will become the first Ghanaian club to play in the Group stage of the continent’s flagship event since 2006.
Giants Hearts and Kotoko played in the last eight but failed to progress to the semi-final stage.
Chelsea will know their Group opponents for the competition after Tuesday's draw.
The 2011 Ghana Premier League champions will be US$ 400,000 richer for their historic feat.
