Referees chief steps down after bribery allegations
Barimah announced his exit at a press conference in Berekum on Wednesday.
Some third-tier clubs playing in the promotional play-offs in the region levelled bribery and corruption allegations against him.
Owner of Debiso Mighty Royals is alleged to have paid an amount of GH¢ 1,000 (US$ 550) to him to aid their qualification to the national second-tier league (Division One League).
"I have had enough of these allegations for the past seasons and I believe it should end here for the sake of everybody in the region," Barimah said at a press conference.
"I took the money from the club owner to prepare accommodation and food for the club and not to induce me or whatsoever.
"But now issues have been twisted in a different way which wouldn't help anybody.
"This is not the first time I have been accused of bribery and it is supposed to end here finally so I have decided to put down my job."
