Ahmed Toure has been cleared to play for Burkina Faso
Asante Kotoko's Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure has announced that FIFA has ratified his nationality switch to play for Burkina Faso.

The 24 year-old caught the eyes of new Stallions coach Paul Putt and the national federation sought clearance from the world's football governing body.

Toure had earlier declared his desire to play for Ghana but it is understood that facilitation of his documentations stalled at FIFA.

The former Africa Sports player told a Sunyani-based local radio Storm FM about his nationality switch.

"I went there (Burkina Faso) and did some of the things they wanted from me and I came back to Ghana so they have called to tell me that I can play for them now even in the qualifiers because FIFA has told them," he said.

"I will be preparing to leave Ghana soon. I have to complete some few things and I will go to Burkina this week."
