New Edubiase United coach Anthony Commey has backed the club's decision to sell its top stars in the transfer season.

The Bekwai-based side have sold last season's top scorer Emmanuel Baffour and captain Mumuni Abubakar to South African side Mamelodi Sundowns.

Enterprising midfielder Asiedu Atobrah is on the verge of exiting the club likewise midfielder Moro Abubakar.

Edubiase-who have qualified to the semi-final of the MTN Ghana FA Cup-might be depleted for the new campaign which begins on October 7.

"I don't see anything wrong with the sale of the players because that is the only thing we can do to survive as a club," Commey told Sunyani-based Storm FM.

"Notwithstanding that, the local league is something else so it will be largely impossible for the players to get their full development if they continue to stay when there is a foreign offer.

"As for me, I will always encourage the club to sell more of the players who shine during the season because our motive is to be a feeder club so."

Edubiase finished last season in fifth place.
