Hearts of Oak midfielder Moro Abubakar has signed a two-year contract extension which will expire in the summer of 2014.

Abubakar's initial contract run out at the end of June and was linked with a host of clubs in the Ghana Premier League.

According to reports, Hearts paid US$ 25,000 (50,000 Ghana cedis) for the services of the defensive midfielder.

This could be a financial boost for Hearts who will profit from the player's proposed move to Czech side Slovacko.

The 21-year-old put pen-to-paper to the new deal last Friday at the club's secretariat.

"It was not about the money. If not I wouldn't have extended my contract with Hearts. I could have joined any of the teams who were seeking my services," Abubakar said.

"It was only a sign to show my gratitude to Hearts so they will benefit from my contract which I am hoping to seal after my medical in the Czech Republic."

Abubakar is waiting to finalize his travelling documents to join Slovacko.
