Ghana to face Malawi for 2013 AFCON slot

The Black Stars will play Malawi
Ghana have drawn unfancied Malawi for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations final qualifying round. 

The Black Stars will play the first leg at home between the weekend of September 7-9 and the return leg in Blantyre on of October 12-14. 

Ghana drew a bye from the previous qualifying round after playing at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The Flames of Malawi eliminated Chad 4-3 on aggregate in the second qualifying round.  

Malawi, who have made two appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations finals, now face a herculean task of beating the four-time African champions. 

The draw held at the Emperors Palace in Johannesburg also saw a mouth-watering tie between Ivory Coast and Senegal. 

The Central African Republic who eliminated record African champions Egypt, play Burkina Faso. 

The 15 winners from this final qualifying round will join hosts South Africa for the finals which will begin on January 19.
