Hearts of Oak midfielder Kofi Abanga has revealed has feared his career had ended after he suffered a serious knee injury in 2010.

The 23-year-old has not featured for the Phobians side since he underwent a successful operation on both knees last year.

He ruptured his knees during a Premier League game in October two years ago at the Accra Sports Stadium.

But he has since recovered fully from the career threatening injury and eager to repay the faith, investment and patience reposed in him.

"To be honest I thought my career was over when I suffered the injury and I’m grateful to the club for what they did for me,'' Abanga said.

"Sitting behind and watching my colleagues play week-in-week out has been very difficult for me but I believe the right time will come for me.

"I'm feeling better and raring to go whenever I’m called upon by the coach.''
