Ghana face $1.8m bill if Stevanovic is sacked

Stevanovic's future is the subject of intense speculation as Ghana ended their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations campaign without a trophy.
The Black Stars were beaten 1-0 in the semi -final by eventual tournament winners Zambia which sparked calls from certain quarters for Stevanovic's dismissal.
Former Ghana FA boss Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe is among those calling for the sacking of the Serbian for their semi- final exit from the tournament.
Ghana FA chiefs will meet next week to decide on the future of the former Partizan Belgrade coach who promised to bring Ghana the continental title.
But with one year remaining on his contract as the coach, the Ghana FA must pay him off before he is sacked.
According to insiders clause in his contract stipulates that the coach must be paid three times the amount in the remainder of his contract if he is sacked pre-maturely.
As he is on a monthly salary of about US$50,000, Stevanovic has 12 months remaining in his contract which means Ghana will pay him US$600,000 by the end of his contract.
But if he is sacked now, he will be paid US$1.8m.
Ghana FA executives will discuss the performance of Stevanovic in the twelve months he has been in charge of the squad before a decision is made.
A decision will be made on his future on Wednesday.
