Four debutants in Ghana squad to face China

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has named four newcomers in his squad to play China in next week's friendly. 

The quartet includes Abdul Razak Nuhu, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, Frank Acheampong and Edwin Gyimah. 

Nuhu, a left-back, who plays for Stromsgodset has been revelation for high-flying Stromsgodset in Norwegian top-flight this term.  

Boakye-Yiadom is already in Beijing with the Juventus squad which beat Napoli 4-2 on Saturday to win the Italian Super Cup. 

He was impressive last season with Serie B side Sassuolo where he scored ten goals in all competitions despite battling injuries. 

The 18-year-old has emerged as a promising prospect with his sultry skills. 

Acheampong, a Ghana youth international, is a household name in Thailand where he plays for champions Buriram United. 

Midfielder-cum-defender Gyimah played under coach Appiah's team which won gold at the 2011 All Africa Games in  Maputo, Mozambique. 

He is a player of South African Absa Premiership side Supersport. 

Asamoah Gyan will be playing his first match after rescinding his decision to retire from the national team. 

Captain John Mensah makes a return to the squad after a long injury lay-off. 

The match will be played in Xi'an, Shaanxi province on Wednesday.
