Under threat in the Ligue 1 group phase, ASEC Mimosas launch their survival programme this Thursday 24 May, when they oppose AS Denguélé in a postponed week 10 match in Group B, at the Stade Robert Champroux de Marcory.

The Mimos are in search of a place in the Superdivision and have no room for error.

“We are at a very important turning point.  It is imperative that we win the next matches to guarantee our spot in the Superdivision.  Everyone is committed and we’ll get there,” confided ASEC’s French technician, Sébastien Desabre.

Lying fourth at six points behind JCAT who are second in the group behind AFAD (22 points), already qualified for the Superdivision, ASEC (12 points+1) would take a great stride towards their goal in the case of a win against the Odiennekas.

But the Yellow and Black, who have not won again since their success (3-1) against ASC Ouragahio in the fourth week, will not have an easy task.

Denguélé (12 points+3) harbour the same ambitions of qualification for the Superdivision, which augurs well for a highly contested match between the two teams.

And this even more so given that the clashes between ASEC-AS Denguélé have seldom produced a victor; the last three clashes illustrate this perfectly: ASEC snatched a victory (2-1) and two draws (1-1) and (0-0).
