Elite One: end of run for the champion

Joël Babanda and the Nassaras missed a 12th consecutive win
Union could not beat the record of eleven consecutive Championship wins when they were held to a goalless draw by Unisport on Sunday.

The Nassaras Kamakaï, who were crowned champions last weekend, do however remain unbeaten in the return leg of the Elite One.

The draw in Bafang did nothing for the Flambeau de l’Ouest who were on a quest for third position, synonymous with a qualifying place in the Confederation Cup.  Unisport still occupy fourth place just before the last week, three points behind the Panthère du Ndé, who beat Renaissance 1-0 in Bangangté.

Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda were outclassed 3-0 by the New Stars at the Stade de la Réunification, losing all hope of a podium position, just like their opponents of the day who were hoping for the defeat of Panthère to keep alive any hope.

Sable FC de Batié assured their position in the elite when they strung together a fourth consecutive victory hosting Njalla Quan, while Aigle de la Menoua have officially been relegated alongside Tiko United and Scorpion de Bé, following their draw 2-2 away against Canon.

Finally in the two clashes with little at stake, Coton Sport played away to beat Tiko 2-0 and the Astres were held to a goalless draw by Scorpion.
