The first round of the Cameroon Cup, which took place this week, saw most Elite 1 clubs reach the next round.

Starting Saturday, Renaissance de Ngoumou hit Ajax hard with a 5-2 drubbing; Njalla Quan qualified easily outclassing Gro Golona 4-0, while Yong Sport Academy demolished Sava 7-0.

The following day, Unisport and Canon de Yaoundé showed their power ahead of Bagna and Nkambe on the same score of 5-1, while New Stars, Tiko United, Panthère du Ndé, Sable de Batié and les Astres outclassed their opponents on less extreme score lines.

On Monday, the Nassara de l’Union Sportive de Douala were taken unawares by the modest Jeunesse Academy de Ngolemakong, just managing to scrape a win on the narrow score of 4-3.

Finally on Thursday, the ogre from Garoua, Coton Sport beat EF Horizon 2-1.

The only Elite One club to have been ensnared is Scorpion de Bé, who were defeated 3-1 by Feutcheu de Bandjoun, a team that hails from the Western regional division.

Tonnerre de Yaoundé, AS Lausanne and Fovu de Baham have also fallen at this stage of the competition.
