The ‘Nassara boys’ outclass Astres
President Franck Happi’s men
therefore managed to react following their two consecutive defeats against Scorpion
de Bé and Canon de Yaoundé.
The Brésiliens de Bépanda opened
the score, but Arnaud Monkam Nguekam and Joël Babanda were the ones who gave the
win to Nassara.
So this adds up to a third
consecutive match with no defeat for Alexandre Bélinga’s men, while Union provisionally
find themselves in second place again in the standings, ahead of the Coton
Sport – Unisport clash.
Day 10 of the Elite one also saw
the teams at the bottom of the log come to life.
The two last-placed teams, Tiko
United and Renaissance de Ngoumou, both won at home against Sable de Batié and New
Star de Douala respectively.
Although New Star were in the
lead at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo thanks to a Bebey Kingué goal, Renaissance sounded
the revolt with an equalisation by Bassilekin and then the victory goal by
Kamdem Kamdem in the second half.
This is President Michel Abena’s
club’s first victory this season.
Another fine achievement of the
day was YOSA’s win against Canon de Yaoundé 2-1 in Bamenda.
The captain of Kpa Kum, Ngom
Balonga, scored in the last quarter of an hour of play, but this was not enough
to make up for the two goals scored by the locals in the first half.
Canon’s first loss since Day 4 allowed
the Académiciens de Bamenda to climb into fifth spot, just behind Panthère du
Ndé, who only managed to garner one point in their away game in Limbé against Njalla
Quan.
And finally at the bottom of the
table, Scorpion and Aigle de la Menoua cancelled each other out on the score of
1-1 in Garoua.
