Union take the lead
The reigning champion thus fell at home at the Stade Roumdé Adjia, on a Nassara Charles Edoa Nga goal in the 70th minute.
This defeat of the northern club follows on their elimination from the Confederation Cup by the Sudanese of Al Ahly Shendy and their disappointing draw 0-0 against Sable de Batié during the 14th week of the championship.
This series of bad results has led to the resignation of Coton Sport coach, Robert Boivin, which should be made official over the next few days.
Union Sportive thus string together their third consecutive victory and take over the leader’s seat, thanks to the defeat of Panthère du Ndé 1-2 by Aigle Royal de la Menoua at home in Bangangté.
Unisport and Canon drew 0-0 in Bafang, as did New Stars and Astres on the score of 1-1 at the Stade de la Réunification during this weekend’s Douala derby.
One of the big feats of the day was that of YOSA, who signed their second consecutive win, this time against Njalla Quan in Limbé (1-0). The Bamenda players thereby climb to third position, lying two points from Panthère and three from the Nassaras.
As for Scorpion de Bé, their place is looking more and more uncomfortable, following a new defeat 1-0 on the pitch of Tiko.
Finally Renaissance tasted victory once again when they beat Sable de Batié 2-1 in Yaoundé, and will be hoping for a similar result on Wednesday in their delayed week 15 match against Coton Sport.
