There’s no stopping Renaissance
The Ngoumou men won 2-1 at home on Saturday
against Panthère du Ndé, thereby climbing back into tenth position after having
vegetated at the bottom of the league standings for many weeks.
The Bangangté club maintain their spot in
second place, but Unisport and Coton Sport have two matches in hand.
Njalla Quan were held to a draw in Limbé 0-0 by
Sable de Batié, in the absence of Nicolas Tonye Tonye, their coach who recently
resigned.
The promoted team has not won again since the
fourth week and has fallen back down to twelfth position; with respect to Sable,
they garner one point after two defeats but are struggling to maintain their
good start to the season.
Aigle de la Menoua and Canon Sportif de Yaoundé
also neutralised each other out on Saturday, on the score of 1-1 in Dschang.
This brings “El Pacha” to four consecutive
matches with no defeat, and “Kpa Kum” maintain the essential by keeping
themselves in the top half of the table, although they did not confirm their
victory against Scorpion.
The highlight of the weekend was Yong Sport
Academy’s eventual win over New Star 1-0 in Bamenda.
Jean-Baptiste Tonguem’s men thereby strung
together their sixth consecutive match without defeat, and send themselves into
third place in the league standings.
New Star have not won again since the eighth
week and now lie five points from the leader.
The other Week 12 encounters will see Scorpion oppose
Astres, Coton Sport clash with Tiko, and of course Union Sportive test their
mettle against Unisport du Haut-Nkam next week.
