Draw for Union and Unisport
The Flambeau de l’Ouest dominated
from the outset, obliging the Nassara to mostly camp in their half.
The first real alert came after a
half an hour of play, with a Ngando Mbida strike deflected by the Union defence.
But Bonaventure Djonkep’s protégés
held on and headed back to the rest rooms at half time without having conceded
a goal.
The Haut-Nkam men took things
back in hand in the second half, but never managed to transform their
domination into a point on the scoreboard, as when Owoundi Ekoo’s excellent
effort was stopped by Mouchili Mfombam in the 83rd minute.
The two teams therefore parted
ways on level score, which allows the Nassara to occupy the top of the table on their own, after Coton Sport were held to a draw by Tiko
United 1-1 on Sunday in Garoua.
This is the third consecutive
match without a win for the Cotonculteurs, who will however be able to win back
the leader’s seat if they beat Unisport in their postponed Week 10 encounter on
Wednesday.
And finally Scorpion and the
Astres drew 1-1 on Sunday, with the Bé players lurking at the bottom of the log
with 9 points.
