Confed Cup: Wolves host FC Kallon Friday
Francis Nedum of Warri Wolves
Secretary of the Delta State Football Association, Onothoja Friday, said the match was shifted from Sunday to Friday due to flight concerns.
He said flights to Free Town from Nigeria are normally on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and due to this if the game were played on Sunday, it may be difficult for the visitors to depart Nigeria on that day.
He said the alternative of Saturday was thought of but it was also not feasible as the flight from Lagos is very early on Sunday so the only option left for Warri Wolves was Friday, which also falls within the time frame approved by CAF for continental games.
The first clash in Free Town about a fortnight ago ended in a goalless draw.
FC Kallon led by owner and top star Mohammed Kallon are expected to arrive the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Wednesday aboard an Arik Airline.
They will be stay a night in Lagos, before they fly out to Warri on Thursday.
They will have their first workout at the Warri City Stadium later Thursday.
Kick–off time for the game has been fixed for 4pm local time.
