Just a week after the new African Cup of Nations kings were crowned, focus turns to the 2013 CAF Champions and Confederation Cup that kick-off this weekend with preliminary round first leg ties taking place across the continent.

MTNFootball.com will bring to you extensive coverage from across the continent with preview, news and match reports over the next four days.

In the Champions League, look out for 2012 Confederation Cup winners AC Leopards of Congo-Brazzaville who will be looking for another sparkling performance, this time in Africa's top tier club event.

1995 winners Orlando Pirates of South Africa and two-time champions Asante Kotoko from Ghana are amongst some of the former holders in action from the 24 first leg fixtures this weekend with an eye on next month’s first round berths.

Defending champions Al Ahly have a bye, as do their arch rivals Zamalek and DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.

Meanwhile, a new champion will be crowned in the Confederation Cup this season with 19 matches getting the show on the road when the preliminary round first leg games kick-off this weekend.

Ex-champions CS Sfaxien of Tunisia have a bye from the preliminary round and they will begin their hunt for a record-setting third title in the first round next month.

Scores are updated directly after the final whistle, meaning you will be the first to know the results.
