One of the team's players told MTNFootball.com on arrival at Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos on Sunday morning that the team management promised the team cash based on their performance against ASO Chlef.
He said, "The chairman of the club promised us cash if we won. He said we will get 500,000 Naira for each goal we score against ASO and another one million Naira, if we won the game."
This cash gift is besides the regular bonuses the players will receive for recording a crucial away win in Africa’s foremost club competition.
The Akure outfit are now second in Group A with seven points, five points adrift of defending champions Esperance, who at the weekend again defeated fellow Tunisians Etoile du Sahel to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition.
