Mohamed Abou-Treka snatched the only goal in Al Ahly’s 1-0 win over Zamalek in the Caf Champions League match played on Sunday.

The 33-year-old ghosted his way in between two defenders to get on the end of a delightful chipped cross from Mohamed Nagi Gedo.

The game played behind closed doors at the Cairo International Stadium failed to live up to its usual excitement as both teams canceled each other out.

The play was for most parts of the game very scrappy with none of the teams able to take full initiative and control.
It was however Zamalek that came closest to opening the scoring in the 42nd minute as Abdoulaye Cisse got on the end of a great pass but his finishing let him down as he failed to make the vital connection into a gaping net.

The second half was very much like the first as both teams proved a very difficult proposition to break down.Ahly however were more forthcoming and deservedly got their reward when the veteran Aboutreka nodded in what proved to be the winner in the 79th minute.Zamalek never managed to recover from the sucker punch as they failed to impose themselves on their opponents.

The win now leaves Ahly firmly in control of Group B two points adrift Berekum Chelsea and rather leaves Zamalek in desperate need of points as they remain pointless at the bottom.
