Ahly leave it late for win
Al Ahly left it late but secured a 2-1
victory over TP Mazembe in their CAF Champions League Group B clash in Cairo on
Sunday night.
A goal from striker Gedo two minutes into
injury-time secured the points for the Egyptians against the 10-men of Mazembe.
Ahly were ahead on 12 minutes when striker Emad
Moteab took a pass from Waleed Soliman and opened the score.
The home side seemed in complete cruise
control and were further aided by the 81st minute sending-off of Joël
Kimwaki for Mazembe.
But they were stunned with five minutes remaining
when Tanzanian Mbwana Samata equalized for the visitors.
Super-sub Gedo lived up to his reputation
once again though as he betted two minutes into injury-time to seal the points
for Ahly and give them a precious win in what looks to be a very tight group.
