Etoile off to winning start
Etoile du Sahel have got their 2012 CAF
Champions League group stages campaign off to the perfect start with a 1-0 away
win at ASO Chlef on Saturday night.
Etoile were always favourites going into
the game, but were made to work hard by an industrious Chlef side who had their
chances in the match.
The only goal of the game was scored on
eight minutes by Etoile midfielder Aymen Belaid after he collected a pass from Chamseddine
Dhaouadi.
With away wins tough to come by in this
competition, Etoile will be delighted
with their night’s work as they now look forward to a home fixture against
Nigerian side Sunshine Stars on July 21.
Chlef now have ground to make up in the
group and must travel to defending champions Esperance in their next fixture on
July 20.
