They are joined in the quarterfinals by Mali, who hardly looked convincing in winning their place in the knockout stages.
Guinea lost out when they could not beat Ghana in the final game and go out despite a thrilling 6-1 win over minnows Botswana.
Aside from that match, Botswana put up a good display, but still lost all three games.
