Which have been the greatest goal celebrations of the 2012 Africa Nations Cup so far? Here are the top five.

Most goals are usually remembered for the brilliance of the strike or the instant moment of genius by the scorer or those in the build up.

But most teams these days create entertaining goal celebrations to add flavour to the industry.

In no particular order, MTNFootball.com looks at the five best goal celebrations so far in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Gyan on one leg

Heading into the tournament, favourites Ghana choreographed a celebration dance for when they would score a goal at the tournament, named the Azonto dance.

It has already been used three times as Ghana have scored that many, but it was best displayed when Asamoah Gyan scored a curling free kick against Mali.

The whole Ghanaian team went to the nearest corner flag and then all simultaneously hopped on one limb while moving three steps to the left and then the same on the right.

Acrobatic Mayuka

When Emmanuel Mayuka scored an equalising goal for Zambia against Libya, the Chipolopolo performed a unique celebration.

Mayuka flipped backwards in a multiple summersault sequence and then his teammates joined him as they pretended to be like dogs and nodded their heads.

Katongo as you know him

Zambia captain Christopher Katongo netted the solitary goal in the victory against co-hosts Equatorial Guinea, and his celebration accompanied his brilliant strike.

Katongo did his customary back flip summersaults, which he is famous for.

But he also added another element to his celebration by gathering his teammates to perform a dance where they put their finger across their mouths, perhaps a sign to silence their detractors.

Marching in slow motion

Mali’s Bakaye Traore hit a pile driver from the edge of the box which found the back of the net against Guinea.

He then summoned his on-field teammates as they marched in slow motion to the bench to celebrate with rest of the team, much to annoyance of the assistant referee who was caught in the commotion.

Carthage Eagles fly

Saber Khelifa’s goal for Tunisia against North African rivals Morocco sparked jubilation amongst his teammates.

The players all headed directly to the corner flag and celebrated by pulling their arms back and forth while moving forward.
