Collins Mbesuma says he is hoping to score again and regularly lead Zambia's attack this year despite Chipolopolo's poor AFCON outing.

The 29-year-old Orlando Pirates striker scored one goal at the tournament in Zambia’s 1-1 draw with Ethiopia.

"I cannot say I had a good tournament as we are going home but scoring the goal was good," Mbesuma said. "It will be good to score for my country again."

The Pirates striker played in all three of Zambia's Group C games in Nelspruit where they finished third to bow out on three points.

He started in the Ethiopia game and came on in the 1-1 draw against Nigeria while he started and finished the 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso.

Mbesuma said it was time to pick up the pieces and focus on the 2014 FIFA World Cup Group D qualifiers.

Zambia face Lesotho in their next Group D qualifier away on March 22 in Maseru.

"I think we have a lot to fight for with the World Cup qualifiers ahead of us so we are still going on," Mbesuma said.

"People back home are not happy but they should understand that we did our best and will need their support more.
