Not dejected: Seydou Keita takes positives from AFCON
Seydou Keita says breaking Frederic Kanoutes seven-goal AFCON record and finishing third marks a bright ending to Mali's campaign.

Keita scored Mali's second goal in their 3-1 win over Ghana to collect bronze at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth and in the process set a personal best record with Mali to set an eight-goal tournament record.

“I feel happy with the achievement. Personally, I feel happy and I proud of my performance at the tournament in general," Keita said.

Keita said Mali can only build on the victory to ignite their 2014 FIFA World Cup Group H qualifiers where they are third on 3 points from two games and a point behind leaders Benin. "This victory means a lot to us," Keita said.

"This is a young team and we will play with our heart to ensure success in the World Cup qualifiers."

Keita added that the win over Ghana made up for their forgettable 4-1 fall to The Super Eagles in the semifinals.

"I tried to play my part and the coach also did his part," Keita said.

"We made many mistakes in the semi finals but we corrected and played a better game today. The team can get better in future."
