What’s hot?
Abdou Razak Traoré’s eighth goal with Lechia Gdansk

What’s not?

Séwé Sports de San Pedro and Ocansey Mandela’s defeat in the Ivoirian Ligue 1
Back from injury, Lechia Gdansk’s Burkina Faso midfielder Abdou Razak Traoré opened the score on a penalty during his club’s 2-0 victory over Widzew Lodz on Friday in the twelfth week of the Polish championship. This is the Stallion’s eighth goal in eleven clashes this season.
Issouf Ouattara’s goal with Chernomorets Burgas
Burkina Faso striker Issouf Ouattara scored Chernomorets Burgas’ third goal in their 3-0 routing on the fields of Lokomotiv Sofia, in the thirteenth week of the Bulgarian championship.
Rennes and Jonathan Pitroipa’s feat against Paris Saint-Germain
Stade Rennais and Jonathan Pitroipa travelled to the Parc des Princes to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Saturday in the thirteenth week of the Ligue 1. The Bretons were reduced to ten, then to nine, but this did not prevent them from taking the advantage and then achieving a tremendous feat in holding out until the final whistle. Although the Burkina Faso striker did put his name on the score sheet in Paris, he made a huge contribution to his team’s fantastic performance on the evening.
Djakaridja Koné’s solid match with Evian against Saint-Etienne
After trailing 2-0 at home behind Saint-Etienne on Saturday in the thirteenth week of the Ligue 1 following a brace by Ivoirian international Max Gradel, Evian TG managed to secure a draw 2-2 with a solid performance by the Stallions’ defensive midfielder, Djakaridja Koné.
What’s not?
OM and Charles Kaboré’s defeat in Bordeaux
Decimated in attack with the absence of André-Pierre Gignac, Loïc Rémy and Jordan Ayew, Olympique Marseille and their Burkina Faso defensive midfielder Charles Kaboré were outclassed 1-0 in Bordeaux, during the closing game of week thirteen of the Ligue 1. This defeat - combined with Lyon’s win over Reims a little earlier that evening - sends Marseille into fourth position on the log, now dominated by OL and the Girondins.
The absence due to injury of Steve Yago and Alain Traoré
Toulouse’s central defender Steve Yago and Lorient’s offensive midfielder Alain Traoré, still injured, did not represent their clubs this weekend. But the two Burkina Faso internationals should be back in action very soon, without compromising their participation in the 2013 Afcon at all.
Séwé Sports de San Pedro and Ocansey Mandela’s defeat in the Ivoirian Ligue 1
The reigning champion of Côte d’Ivoire, Séwé Sports de San Pedro, was defeated 1-2 by ASEC Mimosas at home at the Stade Auguste Denise, on Saturday in the thirteenth week of the Ivoirian championship. Burkina Faso midfielder Ocansey Mandela was in the starting line-up for ‘les Portuaires’, but his performance was not as sharp as usual.
