Nathan Sinkala has shown great maturity at the Africa Cup of Nations and he should move to Europe to be a better player, according to Zambia coach Herve Renard.
Renard first selected Green Buffaloes midfielder Sinkala for Zambia's weeklong tour of India last November, where he made his senior debut against the hosts on November 29 in a friendly Chipolopolo won 5-0 in Goa.
"Of course, he didn’t play for the national team before I came back in the country and when I saw him when he came with us to India, I was sure he was able to play because I was very impressed with his performance,” Renard said.
The 21-year-old Sinkala has so far played 180 minutes at the Africa Cup after making his tournament debut against Senegal on January 21 in a match Zambia won 2-1 in Bata.
"Now the question was he able to withstand the pressure of the Africa Cup before the tournament? We can see now he that has no problems and is playing like a player with 50 caps," the Frenchman saluted.
Renard said he also hoped Sinkala would soon quit the MTN/FAZ Super Division for a deal abroad, preferably Europe, at the end of the Africa Cup after an earlier unsuccessful short spell in Israel in 2010.
"I think he can be an important player for Zambia and hope he will leave Zambia after the tournament he needs to go to Europe to improve his performance," he said.
