Stevanovic picks Kwadwo
Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah says he is ready to impress after being handed a starting role against Mali on Saturday at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The in-form Italy-based player was an unused substitute in the Black Stars' uninspiring opening 1-0 win over Botswana on Tuesday.

The Udinese ace steps in as a left winger while Andre Ayew switches to the right flank as coach Goran Stevanovic is likely to make three changes to his starting line-up.

Samuel Inkoom and Jordan Ayew are expected to be replaced while John Mensah is suspended for the tie.

Stevanovic has confirmed that Asamoah will start the match against Mali as he will boost the midfield battle between the two sides.

"I pick the team based on the opponent and in this match against Mali I think Asamoah will add more to the team," the Serbian said.

Asamoah is delighted with the chance to start and he says he wants to make the most of the opportunity.

"I have been with the team for a long time and this is not my first time being on the bench," the 23-year-old said.

"I have played against Mali and I know what they can do.

"They have got good and talented players. Now I think I will be in the first XI for tomorrow (Friday).

"As a good player I will do my best to support my team. I don't have any pressure on me because as a player you do play all the time."
